Wiredtree Review of Pros & Cons

wiredtree review summaryWe like how they are based out of Chicago IL which is strategically a good location to serve all of the continental USA. We also like how they offer VPS so that those who have finally outgrown their Shared hosting plans can graduate to fast performing VPS packages available at Wiredtree and how the price starts at a reasonable 49/mo. The only negatives to be said is the price points are a bit high for beginners at no less than 49/mo and their no refunding policy which is clearly stated in their legal terms. As stated in our Review Summary, this can become much less of a risk when you pay on a monthly basis.

Wiredtree Pros

  • Your choice of Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annually, or Annually billing
  • Managed VPS Hosting
  • Managed Hybrid Hosting
  • Managed Dedicated Hosting
  • Chicago IL based Data Center and support
Wiredtree Cons

  • no shared hosting packages
  • no refunding (read their user agreement)

Wiredtree Review Summary

wiredtree hosting review summary
If you’re looking for the utmost performance at a price point that is still affordable and you are comfortable with their strict no refunds under any circumstances policy than you will likely be a very happy WiredTree customer. Despite their no refunds policy seeming like a big risk to take to not have a chance at getting a refund in case you are unhappy, Wiredtree has gotten a lot of great reviews published. In reading these reviews and looking into all aspects of Wiredtree at different angles, we can summarize that Wiredtree is a good company that has been around and provides very good quality of hosting services even though they differ greatly from the way a lot of other hosts do hosting business but then again other hosts are selling much cheaper plans (shared) plans which is a lot different than VPS, VPS Hybrid, and Dedicated plans. In this regard, we can see why Wiredtree has a strict no refunds policy because it makes a lot more sense from their standpoint as they are providing a high amount of resources with every plan they have versus your typical hosting which is costly on their end also. How they have structured their billing is you can sign up for a plan to pay by the month, by choosing Monthly, or opt to pay on a Quarterly, Semi-Annually, or Annually basis. While other hosts force you to sign up for a one year agreement, it becomes much less of a risk regarding their no refunding policy when you sign up for one month to ensure you are completely satisfied with every facet of your hosting experience at Wiredtree and you can even continue to do so if you wish on a monthly basis. This puts much needed dampening on the fact that they will not provide a refund under any circumstances. So again you should think to consider that if you choose Wiredtree you may want to continue with paying monthly just in the case of dissatisfaction with your hosting experience at any point in time should you ever experience any major problems that cannot be resolved by Wiredtree down the road. In this way you will never be out too much money in the unlikely circumstances that you ever become dissatisfied. With that said, although we have not personally gone with Wiredtree as we are quite happy with another provider called Media Temple, of Los Angeles CA, we think Wiredtree is still one of your best choices for delivering you with high performance and all the resources your monstrous databases will need.
